Keroro has plenty of serious moments even though it's primarily a comedy. If it was ALWAYS comedic then "Frogulon", and "Frog-Wash" might fly (even though the frog puns would get really annoying after a while) but it's too jarring to hear stuff like that during dramatic or intense situations and possibly even worse amidst some of it's "heartwarming" scenes.

Actually, while the names are frequently used as puns like the number codes, the onomatopoeias they come from are never directly referenced. I guess it's just so obvious in Japan that you can just look at the characters and not question it. It's like naming someone really pure "Angel" or someone really manly "Butch" and no one commenting on how appropriate it is. People don't have to know where the names come from or what they mean, but if they do, good for them, they get a language bonus.

I know Keroro was filled with puns but I'm not sure how "lame" they come across in Japan. I'd try to be clever about it since there's been both "lame" puns and funny puns featured. narrator is great. keep him. tamama, keroro, and giroro are all great as well. i'm a little thrown off by the name changes to their home planet and what they call earth though because i was so used to the original names in the manga and that's really my only complaint. in addition, having a test episode up for review is a great idea so i'm hoping more companies do this before they release shows so they at least know what the people want beforehand(bandai i'm looking at you)

Furthermore, the anime originally changed "Pokopen" to "Pekopon" because it was a derogatory word used that is BANNED from Japanese television (it had to do with the Chinese-Japanese war). Once again, another term that makes NO SENSE in the English language as well as a pun that flies over the heads of non-Japanese speaking audiences. Remember folks, this anime is NOT super serious. Don't compare it to One Piece which has its mixes of comedy and seriousness. This is a joke anime even in Japan.

I see with this dub, they're trying to go for something similar to Crayon Shin-chan's dub. A lot of complaints towards the puns are generally coming from people who don't even understand the Japanese language and completely miss the fact that there's PLENTY of puns in the original. For those unaware, they CAN'T say the models are Gundams because FUNi doesn't own the rights to Gundam. Bandai does. Also, kerokero is the Japanese onomatopoeia, so obviously it makes no sense in English.

awesome work, kururu's voice was a bit of a set back considering how i just got so accustomed to his japanese voice actor, but know what? i can get used to it, wussians and planet wuss was laughable for some jokes and all but i always loved Pekoponians The "1337" Speak is just awful, i cringed every time keroro said the word Pwn, definate drawback me and my friends have been waiting years for an english dub, and so far its pretty ok 8/10- my friends would put it at about 6-7/10

Test for review means that FUNimation is putting out a single episode of the Sgt. Frog dub so the company can get viewer feedback as to what to improve and what to change. I think this is a good idea, considering how lots of people used to complain about dubs (and some still do).

Loved it. Great localization. All the "fans" complaining about changes obviously don't understand that a direct translation of Japanese humor won't match what Americans find funny. Reminds me a lot of the Geneon Lupin III dub. Amazing job. 10/10 would LOL again.
